In the Business of Economic Geography
Project Phase 1 – summer 2015 (ARCHIVE)
HELP US GET STARTED!
Phase 1 of the project seeks to compile a UK database of former Economic Geography PhD students and/or Economic Geography Staff who subsequently moved into Business and Management from 2000 onwards. As a useful first step, colleagues are invited to email us at econgeog@rgs.org with any relevant destination data.
To build a clear picture of the scale of the move of economic geographers to business and management.
- Produce a database of those who have moved since 2000 (includes RAE2001, RAE2008, REF2014 assessment periods).
- Examine the publication patterns of these economic geographers prior to and subsequent to moving.
- Examine their REF profiles and role in their host submission (environment state and impact case studies).
- Examine the (non)replacement of economic geographers (e.g. via jobs.ac.uk) following their departures from UK geography departments.
This database of movers will be compiled using a range of publicly available sources (e.g. departmental and personal websites, RAE / REF submissions),with guidance from EGRG colleagues and Heads of School.
